A collection of four years of tweets (many actually disguised as wise aphorisms) chronicling the decline of nation. Except for an added Foreword and Introduction, it contains almost nothing new if you've already been following along with the progress of the mythical "department" on Twitter or via their blog. Hilarious and sad. If there is only one feed you choose to follow for news, I've always said that the US Department of Fear gives you everything you need to know. One star removed from rating due to actual news links being left omitted from the book leaving the reader to wonder exactly to what some of the "tweets" refer. Includes many "tweet-backs" from followers.

Fear is the last growth industry for the US. Might as well get a glimpse into where the fall of the empire is heading, and this book sums it up quite pithily.
I've heard that in the time of kings, only the jester could speak truth to power. I hope a copy of this winds up on The desk in the Oval Office, so that the occupant knows what they're up against.

A very ingenious book that is dripping with sarcasm and satire. Since it is satire, it is all rooted in truth, sadly. Based off of research and responses from twitter through the @FearDept account. I recommend this, I mean come on it's funny, true, and free
I would like to thank the @FearDept for utilizing the interactive index feature to allow us readers to conveniently and easily focus our paranoia.
Where I am sure that you will find this book riddled with political irony, sarcastic commentary and odd dashes of narcissism I can confidently say that it is an honest and reliable source of how our leaders (large corporates), interact (try to scare the #### out of us) with us on a daily basis.
Great bedtime reading (for those with a good supply of sleeping tablets).
