Jo Brand is one of Britain's funniest and best-loved comedians. With a sharp eye for the absurd and in her own unique voice she tells her story for the first time with wit, candour and a wonderful sense that life can be ridiculous, but there's always a funny side.

I bought it because i enjoyed her appearances on UK chat shows available on youtube. The item itself is fine and the shipping/seller was very good but the content is - sorry to report - quite boring or at least not very amusing or insightful which really surprised me given my view of her from watching her on youtube. Will I listen to it again ? No Would it be of more interest to a a woman struggling with lousy partners and some pretty awful situations ? yes Was I the intended audience ? probably not.

Look Back in Hunger Joao Brand 9780755355259 Books Reviews
Interesting, funny and a great read. I've always like Jo Brand and the book made me laugh out loud! Good onya Jo
Great to read about well known people and Jo Brand didn't disappoint. Very honestly written. Great comedian, but not someone I'd personally like to know.
Easy read but not interesting enough to keep my interest. Not funny
I became interested in Jo from watching her mix it up with Stephen Fry on QI. She always held her own with the guys. Now after reading her book I am not surprised at all.
Good read, not who I expected at all.
This book is so Jo Brand. Very dry, droll, and beautifully written. Made me laugh out loud but also at times was thought provoking and insightful. I read it in just a short time, didn't want to put it down. Definitely a plus buy for me.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best book I've read in a long time
This is one funny lady. First saw her on Graham Norton show. Looked up her books & have bought them all. My wife has read this one twice in the past month.
I suggest you get this book & I bet you buy the rest of her books soon after. She's the kind of lady you wished lived next door so you could talk to her often.
Jo Brand is a good storyteller and captures beautifully the era when women were being much more independent and creating their own paths. She writes with humour but most importantly, empathy; for her younger self, her parents, and many others. I particularly related to her feeling of being treated as if she was on the verge of becoming a delinquent, with her parents treating as something she might become rather than seeing her as she was. Very 70s.
I like Jo Brand even more after reading this book. Just one thing Jo. If you don't tell people you are fat, they might not notice.
I bought it because i enjoyed her appearances on UK chat shows available on youtube.
